About Bald Ridge Lodge

Bald Ridge Lodge, Inc., is a non-profit Stabilization and Assessment Center for boys located in Forsyth County, Georgia which serves boys ages 12-18. We serve those who are in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services or referred by the local Juvenile Court.

Through partnership with referring agencies, as well as families, we focus on family reunification and restoration. While at the Lodge, boys receive counseling, mentoring, community support and engage in positive activities. With the help of both State and local support we opened our doors in August of 2008.

"As a juvenile court Judge, one major problem I face on a daily basis in the juvenile justice and child welfare system is finding appropriate out of home placements for children. The Bald Ridge Lodge is that alternative.

I directly place boys at the lodge on a regular basis as a safe, constructive, supervised 24-hour, fully staffed alternative to RYDC.  I also use this state-of-the-art facility for weekend sanction program wherein a stay at the Lodge can be combined for community service Saturday and Sunday.

I have found this service, the Bald Ridge Lodge, to not only be an answer to an overwhelming problem, but an asset to our community."

Judge J. Russell Jackson
Forsyth County Juvenile Court Judge

What is a boy?

Between the innocence of babyhood and the dignity of manhood, we find a delightful creature called a boy. Boys come in assorted sizes, weights and colors, but all boys have the same creed: to enjoy every second of every minute of every hour of every day and to protest with noise (their only weapon) when their last minute is finished and the adults pack them off to bed at night.

A boy is Truth with dirt on his face. Beauty with a cut on its finger, Wisdom with bubble gum in its hair and Hope of the future with a frog in its pocket.
