Providing Hope and Opportunity to Homeless Young Men

For many young men facing homelessness, the path to self-sufficiency can feel overwhelming. At Bald Ridge Lodge, hope replaces despair, and opportunities replace obstacles. Through our Independent Living Program, we provide the guidance, resources, and community support necessary to help young men transition into successful adulthood.

According to national statistics (Annie E. Casey Foundation), nearly one in five youth transitioning out of Foster Care experience homelessness between ages 17 and 19, and 29% face housing instability by age 21. Recognizing this urgent need, BRL expanded our Independent Living Program to include not only youth aging out of foster care but also young men (ages 18 to 21) experiencing homelessness in Forsyth County who are eager to build a stable, independent future.

Our dedicated Life Coach, Antonio Wade, works closely with each young man, providing mentorship, life skills training, and encouragement. As Coach Wade shares:

β€œThe most rewarding part of my job is seeing young men transform, improve, and become successful adults. Being part of a community that provides opportunities for young adults to repair their lives is so gratifying. Bald Ridge Lodge is crucial to this community because it provides hope where there is a lot of despair.”

Through strong partnerships with stakeholders and the community, BRL ensures that these young men have access to education, employment, and the essential support needed to thrive. By investing in their futures, you empower them to follow their dreams and achieve lasting success.
