New Wheels!

Bald Ridge Lodge has always had a minivan used for shorter trips and fewer passengers. Our minivan is used multiple times a day to transport residents to medical appointments, counseling appointments, after school activities (YMCA, music lessons, team practices), extracurricular events (school sporting events, school dances), full and part-time jobs, and other off-site appointments. The young men we serve are very active, and we often have more than one resident to transport in different directions at the same time, making it critical that we have more than one vehicle available to the household.

In January our minivan's transmission died, then our temporary solution (donated Jeep) broke down also. Rather than continuing to pour more money into this vehicle, our Board of Directors voted to purchase a minivan. We were able to obtain a Certified Pre-Owned Honda Odyssey with low mileage and warranties. Unfortunately due to inflation and used car availability, we had to spend almost twice as much as we had planned.

We had received a $2,500 from Cumming Kiwanis Club and have applied for several grants to help fund this emergency purchase. Thanks to an article in the Forsyth County News, we are well on our way to achieving this goal. Thank YOU to our amazing community!
