Direct Care Staff

Direct Care Staff are instrumental in all daily operations and interactions with out residents. They provide consistency in the behavioral-management plans and carry out service plans under the direction of the Executive Director, Program Director, and Case Manager. Direct Care staff provide 24-hour awake supervision and ensure the safety of each resident when they are on duty. They are also obligated to follow all Bald Ridge Lodge policies and procedures, create a therapeutic environment for traumatized young men, and complete the required reports for record-keeping on each child. Our Staff use the Nurtured Heart Approach in which residents learn to channel their intensity into greatness. Through staff mentoring relationships, residents have firsthand experiences of success. Staff refuse to energize the negative, energize the positive in our residents and are absolutely clear on boundaries. 

Qualifications include (but are not limited to):

  • MUST BE at least twenty-one (21) years of age(State Licensing requirement)
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have a clear driving record and criminal background check
  • Have a passion for helping children including traumatized children
  • Experience in working with youth is preferred, especially in a supervisory or management role

Bald Ridge Lodge is currently seeking staff for the following shifts: *overnight*, weekends, *late afternoon/evening*. Employment may be full or part time depending on scheduling needs. Pay ranges from $13.00-$15.00/hour.

Case Manager/Human Services Professional (HSP)

The Bald Ridge Lodge Case Manager/HSP plans, provides, arranges, coordinates and documents services to children and their families. The Case Manager/HSP is responsible for ensuring that the educational, medical, emotional, and social needs of the child are met and is responsible for providing and/or coordinating ancillary and social services for each child in Bald Ridge Lodge’s care. The Bald Ridge Lodge Case Manager/HSP forms positive relationships with each resident in order to assess and coordinate the meeting of their individualized needs. They are also responsible to follow all Minimum Standards for Child Caring Institutions, Bald Ridge Lodge policies and procedures and provide the required reports for record keeping on each child. The Case Manager/HSP is expected to learn, utilize and model the Nurtured Heart ApproachTM in which residents learn to channel their intensity into greatness. This involves staff providing firsthand experiences of success, refusing to energize the negative, energizing the positive in our residents and being absolutely clear on boundaries. The Case Manager/HSP will carry a caseload of up to 12 residents.

Qualifications include (but are not limited to):

  • MUST BE at least twenty-one (21) years of age (State Licensing requirement)
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the area of behavioral or social sciences, social work, or psychology, childhood education and 2 years of paid work experience in the field of social services or human service delivery.
  • Have a clear driving record and criminal background check
  • Demonstrate organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Use excellent written and verbal communication skills, including some public speaking and court appearances
  • Ability to build positive relationships with community stakeholders
  • Have a passion for helping youth, including traumatized youth
  • Experience in working with youth is preferred, especially in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience with the Child Welfare system is preferred.

The Case Manager/HSP role is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $40,000-$45,000 annually.
